Alright, the weekend is upon us and everyone's focused on some well-deserved R and R, and probably a liquor drink or six. But before we let you go -- at least until the next episode drops on Sunday -- we've got a few news items for your eye and ear holes.
First up, how about that teaser for Netflix and Marvel's The Punisher that debuted at the tail end of The Defenders?
Haven't seen it yet? Then check this mofo out, mofo!
That, brothers and sisters, is a hell of a tease! And I be digging the whole bit about the past being "the devil you sold your soul to" . . . gives me chills! Cannot wait for this to hit later this year! And Shawn and Amy are in total agreement, I'm sure.
Next up, word dropped earlier this week via Batman on Film that a source close to Warner Bros. and the DC Cinematic Universe said early test screenings of Justice League deemed the movie "unwatchable," and that reshoots needed to be completed and the film re-edited.
Reshoots and re-edits are nothing new on blockbusters. This was the case on Rogue One, and it's an awesome movie. But news like this certainly doesn't install confidence, as Wonder Woman aside, the DC Cinematic Universe has been fraught with studio tampering and a collective meh from moviegoers. We'll know Justice League's fate for sure when it hits theatres Nov. 16.
Finally, Disney and Lucasfilm announced this week that a standalone Obi-Wan Kenobi film is in development, which has fans (including this one) excited. There's lots of ground to cover between Revenge of the Sith and A New Hope, so the story potential is there.
No news on who will play Kenobi yet. I have but two words no the subject: Ewan McGregor.
And that's the Weekly Roundup.
