We in The Basement have been pumped for Blair Witch Project director Eduardo Sanchez's bigfoot flick Exists since it wowed audiences at SXSW earlier this year. Yeah, it's found footage, but Sanchez pretty much invented the genre, so he knows his shit.
The flick has been picked up by Lionsgate, and those fine purveyors of genre cinema have seen fit to release a trailer, which we've snagged and posted for you below.
Yeah, it does look like a lot of other found-footage flicks. But Exists has a different vibe too it. Maybe it's because we actually see the monster and witness it doing some cool shit. I don't know. What I do know is I want to check this movie out when it lands at the end of October.
The official synopsis: for five friends, it was a chance for a summer getaway -- a weekend of camping in the Texas Big Thicket. But visions of a carefree vacation are shattered with an accident on a dark and desolate country road. In the wake of the accident, a bloodcurdling force of nature is unleashed. Something not exactly human, but not completely animal. An urban legend come to terrifying life . . . and seeking murderous revenge.
Exists hits theatres and VOD Oct. 24. You gonna check it out?
