Screenwriter Harrison Smith, who penned Corey Feldman's horror romp -- and our Month from Hell selection -- 6 Degrees of Hell and the crackerjack thriller The Fields is at it again.
This time Smith does double duty as writer and director of the slasher flick Camp Dread.
Smith has recruited genre veterans Eric Roberts and Danielle Harris for this one, and it sounds pretty damn clever. Check it:
The Summer Camp horror trilogy was one of the most popular franchises of the 1980s. However, writer/director Julian Barrett's career ended along with his series at the end of the decade. Now Barrett wants to resurrect Summer Camp in a modern reboot by using a reality show as its template and source of funding. Barrett brings together an eclectic group of young contestants, along with the franchise's former stars, in what is thought to be a sure-fire recipe for success. Then people start dying . . . for real.
That. Sounds. Cool. And meta, if I may be so bold. We'll know for sure when Camp Dread hits DVD April 15 via Image Entertainment.
