Alright, I admit it: I was one of those nerds who played Dungeons and Dragons, Champions and a variety of other role-playing games on Friday nights and weekend afternoons as a kid. There. You happy?
Glad I got that off my chest.
But I like to think I never fell as deep into the nerd black hole as the nerds featured in this preview for the upcoming comedy Zero Charisma. I prefer to think I was more the hip interloper who came in and destroyed Comic Book Guy's fun . . . less the hipster persona.
Sam Eidson is Scott, who rules with absolute authority a weekly Dungeons and Dragons-like role-playing game in his grandmother's kitchen. His love of the game and his identity are undermined by the appearance of Miles (Garrett Graham), a hip, charming nerd who brings micobrew and doesn't take the game too seriously.
Gotta admit, this looks like it could be fun. Word out of SXSW was certainly positive. Suffice to say, this makes our schedule of reviews for Season Five, which is only a few short weeks away.
