Submitted for your approval, and the approval of those ever-biased Basement Dwellers Jason and Shawn, are two British horror movies delivered by the filmmakers themselves.
Pretty cool, yes? We in The Basement think so.
First up is The Shadow of Death from writer/director Gav Chuckie Steel, who made the film for less money than it takes to go on vacation and around his busy work and family schedule. Good work dude!
What's it about? Debra and her best friends Jamie and Nancy pick up Dan, Nancey's ex, to go out to the woods to score some weed. Unknown to them a killer who resembles death is cleansing the countryside. With a wannabe policeman and an assortment of the public out for some fresh air, the woods are no place be in today.
How's the movie? Stick with us!
Then Tim Cowles's Interweb-themed flick Backslasher gets put on the chopping block. His is a social-media slasher with a supernatural twist and a lot of hot chicks. Sounds likes it could be right up Jason and Shawn alley. Or is it? There's only one way to find out.
Plus, those music-loving Basement Dwellers take a few minutes to discuss their favourite songs from movies. You know, like Ghostbusters from Ghostbuster or Danger Zone from Top Gun. Tunes. For your ear holes.
Speaking of tunes, tune in at 10 p.m. PST at 92.5FM CFBX Kamloops and online at www.thex.ca. You can also follow along to the mad tweets of Mike S of The Corner of Terror on Twitter! You owe it to your mother to do so.
