We are Jason and Shawn and we're back in The Basement . . . again!
That's right, Season Four kicks off tonight after a five-month hiatus spent lounging on the beach, sipping reebs and enjoying time with friends and family. We also managed to crank out five -- count 'em five -- summer specials and a podcast cliffhanger with Jon Cross over at The After Movie Diner.
Now we're back to our bread and butter of weekly radio shows/podcasts designed to pleasure your ear holes and celebrate all things genre cinema.
So begins The Month from Hell, a four-week excursion into the upcoming horror film 6 Degrees of Hell. Things culminate with our annual Halloween Spooktacular and an interview with star Corey Feldman! First up is our exclusive talk with the screenwriter of the Scariest Movie of 2012: Harrison Smith.
Then it's time to review some movies. We jump into the latest found-footage offering, The Lost Coast Tapes, which has a limited theatrical run in North America this month. Does this tale of a quest for the elusive Bigfoot elevate what has quickly become a tired subgenre or save it? Stick with us!
And stick around for our thoughts on the French horror flick Dead Shadows. Sound familiar? It should. Dead Shadows stars Basement Fave John Fallon, who chatted up the film on our show last season. We've been given an advanced peek at David Cholewa's apocalyptic tale and are excited to talk about it tonight.
You know the drill, Basement Dwellers, tune in at 10 p.m. PST at 92.5FM CFBX Kamloops and online at www.thex.ca. It's radio that's so good, it ought to be illegal. And you can follow along to the mad tweets of Mike S on Twitter!
Now for a preview of this evening's fine entertainment:
