A vengeful cop, a possessed serial killer and reality transformed by magic and madness. Sound like your cup of grue? It does to us!
That's the premise behind Davi de Oliveira Pinheiro's directorial debut Beyond the Grave (Porto Dos Mortos), a new Brazilian feature film that just arrived via Netflix on VOD in the good old U.S. of A. and Latin America.
The flick, which stars Rafael Tombini, Adriano Basegio, Ricardo Seffner and Amanda Grimaldi, is the winner of two international awards and a selection for the Stiges Film Festival, Chicago Latino Film Festival and Festival Internacional del Neuvo Cine Latinoamericano. Say that last one three times fast. I double-dog-dare you!
Beyond the Grave sounds like a hell of a lot of fun. And, having watched the below trailer, it looks very well made given its $150,000 US budget. Like a spaghetti western meets Stephen King's The Dark Tower. We're gonna seek this one out, and you should too!
Thanks to the folks at Lockheart Filmes for the heads up!
